Various Writings on America

Written when General Michael Flynn asked his email subscribers to write letters to America if they were interested.

“For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you.”

As a nation, we find ourselves in the midst of unmistakable darkness; but what may not be as evident is that a great light is shining as well. Throughout our land and even the nations of the earth, the light of truth is shining brightly. “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”

I often have to remind myself that complaining about the darkness is not the same as shining the light. People aren't looking for another complainer; people are looking for positive direction, hope, and truth. Those of us who know the Lord Jesus possess the spiritual truth that people need to hear; and those of us who love and understand America have many of the political solutions that will inspire others to march boldly into the future and revive this American experiment. It feels as though much is shifting underneath our feet, and people are desperate for the stability and hope that only God’s truth and love can bring. May we take advantage of this unprecedented opportunity for us to stand up, speak up, and let our light shine.

Take time to pray; climb the mountain of God, so to speak, so that you can see above the fog of this war. There is great hope; with God all things are possible. We need not know how everything will turn out; we need not see the end from the beginning as only God can do. What we need is to simply take the right next step, obeying God in the small things. What we see as insignificant, may be more important than our dreams of “big things.” Don’t despise small beginnings. Things that are small can become large overnight, and things that are large can become small overnight; but their value is not in their size.

Our duty is to simply be faithful to our loving Father, and take the next right step. Then the next step will appear, and then the next step will appear. With God’s Word as a lamp to our feet, we will follow Jesus together one step at a time. There is no telling where the path may lead; for all things are possible to those who believe!

“The path of the righteous is like the light of dawn that shines brighter and brighter until the full day.”

Let's sacrifice our time and talents, spending our lives on a worthy cause for the glory of God, for the good of America, and for the good of the world. Your labor will never be in vain as long as your motive is love for God and love for people.
