The psalmist David we do know
took his harp down here below,
and strummed a sound so beautifully,
he made the evil spirit flee.

It wasn’t David or his skill
that calmed the king and healed his ill;
The shepherd had a special source:
The Lord was with him, of course!

May divine celestial fire
anoint our every harp and lyre,
causing praise that we raise
to please the Lord for endless days.

May music flow from you and me
that heals and sets the captive free;
may our hearts and hands be pure,
ready to be used by Jesus our Lord.
