A Poetic Prayer

I wrote the following poetic prayer in 2017 inspired by a written prayer from Ransomed Heart Ministries called “The Daily Prayer”.

My loving Father, I now come to you

To be restored and to be renewed.

I receive your life, love and grace this day;

 I yield my life; in you I will stay.

Under the blood, all of my life I bring;

I'll abide under your covering.

May your Spirit restore, renew and lead

All of my life in this time of prayer.

You, all saints and I stand as one agreed

 Through your Spirit and under His care.

Dear and holy God of Heaven and Earth,

None can fathom your infinite worth.

You're worth all my life, I love you so much;

Please touch me with your life-giving touch.

 All other gods I renounce and deny;

Reign in my heart, on you I rely;

You are the hero, to you I belong.

Please cleanse my heart from my every sin;

Search me and know me and lead me along

 To where your grace works deeply within.

Father, thank you for your loving embrace;

You brought me home to your dwelling place.

You are my true Father, my source and friend;

You are the Beginning and the End.

With love and trust I give to you my soul;

To be one with yours; please take control.

You've proven your love by sending your Son;

Christ, His work and His life I receive.

May He and I in every way be one;

 To Christ and all of His work I cleave.

I now bring the cross and resurrection,

Christ's death and life and His ascension

Over my spirit, soul, body and will;

Over all of me let your love spill.

I bring Christ's work over my whole household;

Father, please let your great love enfold

My family and all our domain.

May all of Christ's work be manifest

In our whole lives and help us to remain

In Jesus the Vine and in His rest.

Thank you, Lord, for ransoming my heart;

Take all of me; I'll never depart.

I receive the work of Your Son’s sacrifice,

My freedom and life at His blood's price.

With Him, my sinful flesh was crucified;

All claims against me are nullified.

 I take my place in His death and His cross;

I am dead to every evil force.

 What used to be gain I now count as loss;

I receive His blood as my life's source.

Dear Father, you're my life and victory;

You have conquered sin and death for me.

Sin and death have lost their authority;

I’m risen with Jesus to liberty.

In His resurrection I take my place;

I receive your life, love and your grace.

You are my eternal source and supply;

Receiving your Life is my life's aim.

Your resurrection work to me apply;

To all of my life I give it claim.

Lord, you're my victory and power;

You're my home, refuge and strong tower.

I receive the work of your ascension

 Into my life's every dimension.

You have crushed all of Hell under your feet;

 In Heaven, with you, I take my seat.

All the glory belongs to you alone.

I’m seated with Christ at the your right hand.

I’m one with you in your death, life and throne;

In you and in your strength I will stand.

I now bring God's authority and reign

Over my life, realm and my domain;

The full work of Jesus Christ I now bring

Against Satan and every foul thing.

All darkness and claims I now overthrow!

Every foul spirit, now you must go!

Far from me, I send every spirit bound

In the power of Jesus’ name.

Every foul scheme I cancel and confound,

And what Satan stole I now reclaim.

Lord, I trust you and I love

How as a dove your Spirit came from above.

You have clothed me with power from on high;

For Truth and Life, on You I rely.

I yield myself to your loving leading;

Your infilling I'm always needing.

The Spirit is my guarantee of future glory,

My union with the Trinity.

Lead all of my life and write my story

Now and for all of eternity.

Dear Heavenly Father, you always bless

My life with gifts that words can't express.

 All spiritual blessings in Christ are mine

As I remain attached to the Vine.

Jesus’ blood that flows from His torn veil

 Is my source and shield in this great tale.

I put on Christ and the armor of God;

 The sword of the Lord is at my side.

With His shoes of good news my feet are shod;

 In God's strength I will pray and abide.

Dearest Lord of Hosts,

 You are the one that I love the most.

Send your angels to fight for me this day;

To protect me on my every way.

May angels minister your ministry

 To my whole household and family.

Over your bride’s prayers let your Spirit reign.

God's kingdom is here and I give it claim

To all of my household and my domain!

All glory is God’s in Jesus’ name!
