A Bedtime Poem

Sleepy and sinking into a pile of pillows, I tucked myself in as tidal waves of dreams prepared to roll over my mind.

All of a sudden, I was running through rivers and mountains and trees
with water and snow and leaves to my knees!

Weee! I say as I fly above birds and the clouds in the sky,
skipping and hopping the hills so high!

Woahhh! As I surf the waves, and wonder caves,
and pretend as though I’m truly brave.

I am! Fighting giants with sling and sword,
saving lives for no reward;
selfless warriors are never bored!

The world is full of battles to fight,
‘tis a war to choose the right,
And when you know just what to do,
do it with all your might and see it through.

What a night of dreams and fun,
to imagine things that shall be done.
Lord, give us dreams that will prepare
for the things in which we’ll share.
And in our nights of happy rest,
refresh us, restore us, and remind us that we are blessed.
